ABOUT THE EOKEA

The licence holder of the 50/50 is the Edmonton Oil Kings Education Association.

Through this program, and your support of, the EOKEA has been able to help send hundreds of young hockey players and Edmonton high school students on to post-secondary education through scholarships being awarded to students that show athletic endeavors, academic excellence, and community involvement.

The EOKEA is one of the main pillars of the Oil Kings organization is the commitment to furthering not only player and alumni education, but also the education of others in the community.

ABOUT US

The Edmonton Oil Kings are a major junior hockey team based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They are one of 23 member teams of the Western Hockey League (WHL) and, subsequently, one of 61 teams that comprise the Canadian Hockey League (CHL).

After previous stints in the WHL from 1951-76 and 1978-79, the franchise was reincarnated into the modern era at the commencement of the 2007-08 season.

Since 2007-08, the Oil Kings have seen 27 players selected at the NHL Draft; 12 of those players chosen in the first two rounds. As of the 2025-26 campaign, they have graduated 20 players who have gone on to play in the National Hockey League.

In modern franchise history, the Club has earned seven regular season Central Division titles (2012, 2013, 2014, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022), are four-time regular season Eastern Conference champions (2012, 2013, 2014, 2020) and claimed the Scotty Munro Award as WHL regular season champions in 2012.

The Oil Kings have earned a berth in the WHL Final on four occasions (2012, 2013, 2014, 2022), claiming the Ed Chynoweth Cup as League champions in 2012, 2014 and 2022.

They have appeared in three Memorial Cups (2012, 2014, 2022), and are 2014 Memorial Cup champions.
